Dr. Frost is a well-known brand at UK vape shows, thanks to their distinctive branding featuring a snowman with a monocle. The company’s focus on cooling flavors is immediately recognizable, and I was excited to try their Polar Ice range of e-liquids. I tested four flavors – Orange Mango Ice, Strawberry Ice, Grape Ice, and Watermelon Ice – all in 70/30 VG/PG and 0mg nicotine, which came in 100ml shortfill bottles. The same flavors are also available in their 50/50 Range, at 6mg, 12mg, or 18mg nicotine.
Orange Mango Ice has a strong mango flavor, with orange zest adding a complex zing. The cooling menthol hit is strong and refreshing, making it a delicious juice that’s perfect for a tropical getaway. Strawberry Ice smells like opening up a packet of strawberry laces, but has a slightly artificial, sweet taste that’s not quite like the real fruit. The cooling effect helps to cut through the sweetness, but it’s still not an all-day vape for me. Grape Ice has an artificial smell that reminded me of old Vimto, but the juice tastes surprisingly good – it really tastes like grape juice, which is a hard flavor to get right. Watermelon Ice is my favorite of the four, with a juicy watermelon flavor that’s enhanced by the cooling effect. Overall, Dr. Frost’s Polar Ice range is definitely worth trying for anyone who enjoys cooling flavors in their vapes.
